Running Club 3/27/19

We had the PERFECT weather for our 1 mile run today at running club. Our runners started our practice with smiles on their faces during warm ups and stretching. They ran the 1 mile timed run, and loved cheering on their teammates as they finished this run!

Our character trait of the week was Acceptance. We recognized Madison K. and Elle R. for accepting new challenges with a positive attitude!  Madison is ALWAYS accepting new challenges with a positive attitude. Every coach noticed a big smile on Madison's face as she ran her 1 mile...the whole time! This is Elle's first season at running club, and we are so happy to have her out here with us! She told us that she is excited about making new friends this season, and we can tell she is up for any challenge as she completed her first 1 mile timed run at this practice. We are inspired by these runners to accept all of our challenges with such positive attitudes and enthusiasm, great job!

First Running Club 3/13/19

We had an amazing day out at running club! We welcomed the spring weather with relay races and a half mile run.



The runners loved showing zest and enthusiasm by cheering for their teammates during our activities. Thank you to Mrs. Buchan for leading an amazing yoga cool down. We are looking forward to a great season!



Congratulations to our 2 award winners this week for the Zest/Enthusiasm, Emily and Logan! They were smiling all of practice, cheering on their teammates, and showing lots of enthusiasm. :)

Final Fall Running Club 11/7

What an amazing season! We enjoyed team building activities, 1 and 2 mile timed runs, agility stations, yoga, zumba, sprinting, distance activities, and even a 5k this season! The runners have done an amazing job, and have loved our fall running club.

Congratulations to Camden and Winnie- the winners of our Optimism award this week at running club! These 2 are always looking on the bright side, being positive, and being encouraging to their teammates! We are so proud. 

Thank you to all of the middle and high school volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to spend practice with us each week. These kids lead our stretches, help carry materials, help lead stations, and provide so much laughter, so many smiles, and wonderful leadership for our runners! We cannot thank them enough!

10/31 Halloween Fun Run!

We had so much fun at our running club practice on Halloween! The runners completed either a 2 mile or 24 minute run, and did an amazing job! We even had "ghosty" at practice who gave the BEST high fives and "power ups" for the runners on their race!

Congratulations to Elsa and Erin, the winners of our Bravery award. Both girls consistently show boldness, leadership, and bravery at practice...challenging themselves to push it to the limit, and always doing the right thing! Alex and Riley won the modesty award on 10/24! These 2 always show humility, and are never bragging about themselves...even though we love to brag about them!













Our next running club will be our last for the season!

Our runners had the opportunity to show off their running and Zumba skills in different groups yesterday at running club! They got to participate in activities such as Indie 500, Zumba, Jersey Tag, and Rock/Paper/Scissors running challenge. Our award of the week when to 3rd grader, Ryan, and 5th grader, Carson for "Appreciation of Excellence."

Don't forget to sign up for the Angus Barn 5k!

We would love to see you out at the Race for Steak at the Angus Barn on Sunday, October 14th. 5k Registration is $70 for adults and $30 for kids, and includes an arm band to get into the festival, lunch, and events of the day after the 5k! If you choose to register for this 5k, please register under the team name Brassfield Running Club. This is a wonderful event that we have attended for years, and it is for a great cause. 9/12 & 9/19

We out ran Florence and got in some awesome mile times and agility work outs over the past few weeks at Running Club! The runners were happy to get out all of that hurricane energy by doing ladders and fun games to practice their sprinting and strength.
