3/28/18

Our runners ran the 1 mile today at practice, and did a wonderful job! We enjoyed the 75 degrees and sunny afternoon. When the students were finished running, they were able to choose to work on strength/agility activities with Mrs. Lipetzky or Yoga with Mrs. Sholar! Lydia could even do the "crow" pose where she balanced her knees on her elbows, and held herself up just by her hands- IMPRESSIVE!

Our Character Trait of the week was Persistence! Our winners were 3rd graders Lucy and Phebe! They were working so hard through the strength activities at practice as well as through the full 1 mile run! Mrs. Kessler said she never saw Phebe without a smile on her face during the 1 mile, and Lucy gave 110% on her first ever day at running club.

We are so lucky to have the best middle school volunteers out there helping us this season! Special thanks to Jake, Anderson, Eli, Johnny, and Kelis for volunteering with us!

First Running Club 3/14/18

We had a fantastic time at our first running club of the season yesterday! The runners participated in "Loco Loops" where they had to complete 1/2 mile with obstacles and strength activities throughout the course. We really enjoyed running/dancing with our dance move cool down around the track! Runners had to jog around the track, and when they heard the music they had to bust their favorite dance move. We all loved having fun through running and movement!

Meet our coaches this season:
Ms. Pakes
Mr. Colon
Mrs. Lipetzky
Mr. Flahive
Ms. Kessler
Mrs. Nolan
Ms. Koester
Mrs. Crain
Ms. Sholar

Congratulations to Morgan and Braeden, the winners of our Optimism award! Both runners were being extremely positive and encouraging the entire practice. Great job!

We want to say a huge THANK YOU our middle school volunteers for coming out and helping us at practice!

Next Wednesday, 3/28, we will be running the timed 1 mile run! Make sure the bring your water and running shoes!
