Running Club 9/28/16

Distance Day!

Today, our runners worked on endurance and distance activities. We tried to "endure" the tough weather, but the thunder started to rumble and sent us running for the building. We finished out our practice with strength activities in the Music and Spanish Room!







Our character trait of the week was "Self-discipline." Congratulations to 5th grader, Zackery and 4th grader, Chase who both showed great self-discipline today by pacing themselves and knowing their limits during all of our activities!




Our shirts have been ordered and should be in very soon! We will see you next week....and we will welcome Track 1 back to school! :-) 

Running Club 9/14/16

All of the runners at running club yesterday ran the 1 mile timed run! See a list of the times here! It was HOT outside...about 90 degrees, so the runners were very good about staying hydrated. We also got to play Across the Ocean at the end of running club...Coaches vs. Runners. 

Our Character Trait of the week was Determination. Congratulations to Ella and Austin who showed great determination in our 1 mile run yesterday!T-shirts are being ordered!

Welcome to the Fall 2016 Season! 9-7-16

The runners had a fantastic first meeting today at Running Club! We got to use the ladders, rings and batons today to complete 3 different running stations. Our runners had so much fun playing fitness tic-tac-toe, running agility drills and pretending like they were in Olympic relays around the track!

 Each week we will choose 2 runners for our "Character Trait of the Week" Award. Today's trait was Enthusiasm. Congratulations to our 2 winners, Ashley and Benjamin. Both of these runners were cheering on teammates, excited about the stations, and smiling the entire time. We are so proud of them!


We will be in touch with more information about the possible team 5k on October 9th! Stay Tuned!

If you have not paid for your running club shirt yet, please turn in your $12 to Mrs. Lipetzky or Ms. Pakes by Wednesday, 9/14/16. We are extending the deadline one week!
